Young Indian Fellow Qualifies for Engineering Studies

Miss Amala Gangatharan-Ponnamma, a high school student from the Foundation-Funded St. Charles Higher Secondary School, K.G.Kandigai, is a Fellow of the Elena Cuomo Scholarship Program since 2015. She was a brilliant student this year in the Higher Secondary Examination, the final year school exam in India. Her results qualify her to pursue graduate studies at the GRT Institute of Engineering and Technology in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Pursuing her dream, the young woman from rural Tamil Nadu, will pursue in this university studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

ECSP Program, in place since 2014 and already supporting 4 university female students, is specifically designed to help girls with academic ambitions. This is a long-term support which identifies high-potential pupils from tender age and accompanies them until the completion of their university studies.
